Verithin 65-3
Serial number range 100-200

Originally described as model 4575 guitars, I now believe that they should be known as Verithin 65 models.
The reasoning behind this is:
As far as I know and can find out, the only guitars produced by Hofner that had the type of label inside these guitars was produced for the Selmer company.
All the Selmer guitars had names, except for the Florentine version of the standard Verithin, which is refered to as a '66.
I believe that these guitars should be known as
Verithin 65-3.

1965 HOFNER MODEL 65-3

A red finish and fitted with the standard Hofner Lyre tailpiece.
It has the Selmer style body label on which is typed the model name "Model 65-3" and the serial # 118.
It would therefore appear that Selmer sold a small number of three pickup Verithins in 1964/1965.
This is the earliest serial number on my records.
Pots are dated 414, so October 1964
A very rare guitar

1965 HOFNER MODEL 65-3

A red finish and fitted with a Bigsby tremolo.
This one is a bit different. It has the Selmer style body label on which is typed the model name
4575 and the serial # 144.
An interesting example of this rare guitar.
This is what I emailed to the owner:
" I think that your guitar is a misnamed 65-3, not a 4575.
The serial number on yours falls right amongst the other 65-3 guitars that I list. The debate is purely academic really, and I can get a bit anal about this sort of stuff because the workings of the Hofner company and Selmer are, to me, fascinating. The fact that there are neither Hofner nor Selmer records for the 50s and 60s makes finding out about these great guitars quite a challenge".
